Performer. Choreographer. Deaf Artist
Fingers pushing the floor with drive and the sensitive spine snaking through space captures the spirit of Anna’s movement. Her style is an athletic integration of her climbing, contact improvisation and gymnastics background with a passionate heart. She finds immense joy in exploring public structures, creating momentary behavior reliefs within daily routines.
As an artist Anna values collaborating with Disabled dancers- bringing together deaf, disabled and contemporary dance worlds. She is captivated by the visual exploration of inaudible verbal language and the use of repetition to generate energy and meaning. As a teacher, anna has developed her own movement workshop ‘Textured Listening’ an embodied approach to picking up movement through a curiosity of sensory sensitivity and deepening sensory perception.
Anna is a company member with AXIS Dance Company. Performance and teaching highlights include Germany, Mexico, Ireland, Greece, Jerusalem, Lincoln Center, Stanford and throughout the USA (as part of AXIS Dance company and as a freelancer).
